    La spia lampeggiante è la sincronia di linea in genere, si stabilizza quando trova il canale di connessione adsl, questo lo dovrebbe fare anche con i pc spenti; diversamente puoi cominciare a vedere se il kernel ti riconosce nativamente il modem (in tal caso il driver non servirebbe a nulla), qui è il procedimento che Tonino ti sta dicendo di fare (anche se non nel modo corretto ;)2 ). Sconnetti il modem ed apri una shell quindi batti il comando 'su' , ti chiederà la pass di root, appena inserita connetti il modem e dopo qualche secondo digita "dmesg" e vedi cosa ti dice nelle ultime righe. Se sei fortunato uscirà scritto il tuo modello di modem ed in quel caso SuSE sarà pronto per l'uso, altrimenti ti dirà semplicemente che ha trovato un "new usb hardware id: xxxxxxxxx" o qualcosa di simile. Se rientri in quest'ultimo caso va installato il driver e qui le procedure da seguire possono essere svariate; Nel caso ti abbiano dato il sorgente devi raggiungere la cartella che lo contiene, aprire una shell in quel percorso e digitare i 3 comandi che ti dicevo (' ./configure ' - 'make' - 'make install' ), se si tratta di una patch per il kernel va ricompilato (non dovrebbe essere il tuo caso), se si tratta di un eseguibile autoinstallante basta accedere alla directory che o contiene dalla shell (dopo aver dato il comando ' su '...) e digitare il nome del driver preceduto da ./ (ad es: ./driver).



    Annotazione: i modem usb sotto Linux in genere usano il programma "eciadsl" per funzionare anche se non sempre con esiti positivi (questo scritto nella documentazione), ti assicuro che però in particolari casi può essere complicato installarli anche perchè bisogna disabilitare l'hotplug usb del kernel e sostituirlo con quello presente nel programma eciadsl (altrimenti non riesce a prendere la priorità sulla porta).



    Re: per essere più specifico nell'aiutarti avrei bisogno di qualche info più specifica (tipo il nome del driver, la versione ed eventuali versioni dello stesso su internet)

    Hardware non riconosciuto direi (sempre se si tratta di questo... cos'hai attaccato su quelle povere usb?). L'unica via è quella di installare il driver...



    Guardati questo tutorial a riguardo, il sito ufficiale del programma che ti servirà è questo. Se hai pazienza e non demordi potresti anche riuscire (stai facendo una delle cose più complicate che un newbie possa fare con Linux...)

    Da YaST vai semplicemente nella sezione riguardante le connessioni, troverai un'icona specifica che ti guiderà nella configurazione dell'account.



    Re: Se usi eciconf c'è un suo modulo che serve a creare la connessione, per la guida in questo caso segui quella proposta dal sito ufficiale (che è sicuramente più completa di informazioni di quante te ne potrei dare io!)
