    internet su linux

    ho appena installato opensuse 11 a 32 bit sul mio pc. come prima cosa ho provato ad installare il modem ma non so come si fa; nel cd del modem ce una cartella con scritto "LinuxSuse 9.2" ma io ho la versione 11 e non so se va bene. in questa cartella ce ne sono altre due; se apro la prima e clicco sull'eseguibile che ce dentro non succede nulla, se apro la seconda cartella e clicco su questo altro eseguibile mi dice ke non ce alcuna applicazione installata associata a quel eseguibile. come faccio ad installare il modem? su linux ho bisogno dlle guide che devo consultare poco e spesso. grazie per le eventuali risposte

    Che modem è quello che devi connettere? Usb o ethernet?



    Se si tratta dell'ethernet di driver da installare non ce ne sono (come su windows del resto) mentre se è usb il driver potresti già averlo a disposizione sul kernel (dipende dalla compilazione che ha subito) oppure sarebbe comunque meglio verificare se c'è sul cd tramite YAST, se alla fine ancora non c'è prova a compilarlo (se hai il sorgente, in questo caso andrebbe bene salvo particolari errori di dipendenze) o a installarlo (.rpm)

    il mio modem é usb. nel cd ho controllato e c'é una cartella con scritto Driver Suse 9.2 ma non so come fare a far partire il setup. ho provato anke con l'installatore di pacchetti ma mi da errore. non so come si compila il codice sorgente e non so cosa dovrei fare con yast. per piacere siccome ho installato suse da poco potresti spiegarti meglio?

    Inserisci il modem usb e poi dalla shell dos (che credo sia scritto terminale) digita dmesg e vedi cosa di dice se esce la marca del modem o qualcosa di simile hai gia i driver fammi sapere ciao

    Per compilare un programma da Linux devi usare la riga di comando, prima ci si porta nella cartella dove hai i sorgenti e quindi:



    ./configure

    make

    make install



    se invece hai a che fare con i file autoinstallanti di suse (estensione .rpm) puoi usare il comando rpm -uvh [nome_pacchetto.rpm] sempre da una shell nella cartella dove hai il pacchetto (oppure basta semplicemente cliccare 2 volte l'rpm, OpenSuSE te lo installa al volo in caso)



    come detto prima però, se hai la possibilità di usare la ethernet hai molti meno problemi dato che come è attaccato funziona subito...



    re: Buona la soluzione proposta da Tonino66 ma serve solamente a vedere cosa fa il kernel all'hotplug della periferica ;)2

    con gnome mi sembra applicatios poi non ricordo,comunque se ti apre una schermata nera si e quello,poi inserisci la stringa se dice che non hai i permessi fai sudo -i e inserisci la tua password e dai invio e rifai la stringa dmesg e dai invio.

    non ho mai usato opensuse,ma visto che non sai distinguere nemmeno un terminale perche vuoi usare linux??non e una critica solo una domanda,cerca di intuire quale il terminale,oppure postami un immagine e ti dico cosa fare

    puoi spiegarti meglio? siccome sono inesperto potresti dirmi come fare passo a passo (cmq i file che ho sul cd del modem non hanno estensione rpm, se pero faccio proprieta c'é scritto che é un eseguibile)

    ho notato comunque che durante la sessione di suse la spia del modem lampeggia di continuo. questo fatto me lo fa anche in windows all'avvio, pero dopo qualche secondo smette perché credo che ha rilevato i driver.

    si ho provato e mi vengono fuori un casino di scritte ma il problema che non so come postarle perché su linux le ho copiate su writer, le ho salvate in txt e poi le ho messe sulla penna ma il bello che aprendolo qui su windows il blocco note non rispetta piu le righe che c'erano su suse cioé le ha messe tutte attaccate. te le posto lo stesso?
